Grass Pitch

Our ‘non electric grass tent pitches’ are exactly that, grass pitches for tents only that do not have electric hook up. These pitches are NOT suitable for any type of vehicle accommodation such as roof tents, trailer tents, car camping, campervans, motorhomes or caravans. We do not have tent pitches with electric hookup at our site.

Booking multiple tents

Each tent is treated as its own individual pitch. As we are an open field campsite, it is not possible to have multiple tents on one pitch (regardless of their size). This is because we are only licenced for a certain number of tents and therefore, charge per tent rather than pitch size. If you have a under 18 using their own tent, this is then classed as a pup-tent and will need to be added on as an extra to your booking.

Pitch size

We don’t mind what size tent you bring! However, if it is larger than a 6 or 8 man, we do charge a small ‘large tent supplement’. This can be added on the extras page when booking.

Parking with a grass pitch

Parking is strictly in the designated parking bays around the edges of the camping field. Although we can allow parking on the edges of the field in dry weather, this cannot be guaranteed. Sometimes during busy periods any additional vehicles may be required to be parked in the overflow car park at the entrance to the site.

Pitching tents together

As we are an open field campsite, we do not have allocated tent pitches. Therefore, it shouldn’t be an issue to pitch your tents next to each other.

Booking tent pitches and hard standing pitches together

If you have booked a tent and a hard standing, or know someone staying on a hard standing pitch and would like to be together, please pop over an email or give us a call with your request and we can try our best to find them a hard standing pitch near the tent field. Please be aware that as tent space is not allocated, we cannot guarantee that the tent space near their hard standing pitch won’t have already been taken.

Hard Standing Pitch

Our Hard standing pitches with electric hook-up are exactly that! We have 2 sizes, some 7-meter pitches and some 8-meter pitches. Some have awning space (grass next to your pitch for an awning, gazebo or pup-tent) and some do not. Due to our licencing, regular tents are NOT permitted to pitch on or next to the hard standing pitches. All the hard standing pitch options are the same price, the extra charge comes if you select the awning, gazebo or pup-tent options on the extras page.

Requesting pitches

Please be aware that pitch types are not guaranteed at the time of booking. If you would like a specific pitch type (such as a pitch with grass but you are not actually intending to bring an awning, gazebo or pup-tent) please send us an email or give us a call in advance with your requests. We are always happy to allocated specific pitches if you have a favourite or would like to be by your friends. Booking more than one hard standing pitch at the same time under the same name does not guarantee pitches together. Please email or phone and we can usually accommodate requests for adjacent pitches.

Booking hard standing pitches and tent pitches together

Unfortunately, it is not possible to have an adult use a tent on or next to a hard standing pitch. This is due to our strict licencing meaning tents for over 18s must be pitches over in the tent area. You can view our site map here. If you have booked a hard standing pitch and also a tent pitch and would like to be nearby, send over an email or give us a call with your request and we can try our best to find you a pitch near the tent field. Please be aware that as tent space is not allocated, we cannot guarantee that the tent space near your hard standing pitch wont have already been taken. If you have a under 18 using their own tent, this is then classed as a pup-tent and will need to be added on as an extra to your booking.

Caravan & Motorhome Club members

As well as our 20 hard standing pitches on our main site, we have a Certificated Location site (or CL Site as we usually call it) with an additional five 8-meter hard standing pitches, all with awning space and electric hook-up. The price for the CL site is exactly the same as the main site, the only differences are; you need to be a member of the Caravan & Motorhome Club to stay, it is a little more private and sometimes quieter as it is only five pitches as appose to 20 on the main site. We take full payment at the time of booking for the CL site whereas for the main site there is an option to just pay a deposit at the time of booking and the balance on arrival. Our CL site follows Caravan & Motorhome club regulations and is therefore screened by trees and a hedge. Please be aware that tents are not permitted on the CL site as it is for vehicle accommodation only. Roof tents, folding campers and trailer tents are permitted on CLs, so long as they are Club Members

Hard Standing Pitch Options

7-meter (with no awning space) and electric

Suitable for car camping, campervans, roof tents, tent boxes, trailer tents and motorhomes up to 7 meters in length that DO NOT require grass alongside their pitch or room to pitch a gazebo, pup tent or drive away awning.
