Caudale Beck walk from Sykeside

Caudale beck map

Distance: 3.5 kilometres Approx. time needed: approx 1.5 hrs

From the car park afore the Brotherswater Inn, walk across the road (the Kirkstone Pass) to the gate. From the gate head for the post with the white footpath sign, then pass through the wall with break in it, following the footpath keeping the road on your right-hand side.

Travel over the new footbridge over the stream, go through the gate up and over to the second gate to the bus stop. Following this, cross over the road, turn left and walk a short distance on the right side of the road until you reach the foot path sign on the right.

From here, go through the gate following the footpath signs ahead.

Now, keep the wall to your right and the footpath to your left, and shortly you will cross over a flat bridge then slightly right over the next footbridge. From here, head towards the gate, then turn right towards the next footbridge. Once across the bridge, the footpath bears left past a broken tree and bends right from here in the direction of Brotherswater. The footpath will take you past a large rock; keep to the left of this with the stream to your right. You will pass a stone building on your right; look for the gate and, once through the gate, head towards the footbridge, then towards Hartsop Hall and Farm.

Once at Hartsop Hall, turn right along the path through the farmland towards Sykeside, ending at the bottom of campsite.
