Perfect for a few days away, camping pods offer the chance to relax without having to pitch a tent yourself. Avoid the adverse effects of driving rain and wetness (it’s why the Lake District has Lakes!) with no need to take down and dry a wet tent. So whether you’re a couple looking to explore, or a family hoping to go on adventures together, the pods provide an opportunity for an easier get-away.
The pods do not contain any equipment at all, so you’d need to bring all your usual camping kit apart from the tent. (Sleeping bag, sleep mat or airbed, pots and pans, stove, camping chairs, torch etc.) Cooking must be done outdoors on either your own stove or barbeque. Small campfires are permitted but you will need to bring a fire pit as fires must be raised off the ground and extinguished by 11pm.
Both pods are suitable for a maximum of two adults and up to three children, and both are dog friendly too. The pods are unfurnished with a laminate floor, indoor lighting, under floor heating and double electric socket with two USB sockets.
The pods blend in with well with the backdrop of Dove Crag and Hart Crag as they’re made not far from Bowness on Windermere in the Lyth Valley from locally sourced timber. They are well insulated making them ideal for a break during both the summer and the winter months.
Please note that there is a two night minimum stay in the pods all year round, increasing to a 3 night minimum over bank holiday weekends.
