COVID-19 Update 14th July 2021
Lifting of restrictions from 19th July 2021
From Monday 19th July, the government will lift all remaining legal restrictions on social contact. However this does not mean that life will be returning to normal. Caution has been urged by the Prime Minister as the number of Covid-19 cases remains high.
The well-being of both guests and staff and ensuring that guests enjoy their visit are our priorities. Like every small business, there is the risk of having to close either the Inn or campsite at very short notice if staff members either fall ill or have to self-isolate. It would be devastating for us to have to tell everyone enjoying their stay that they must leave. Additionally the financial consequences of a full 10 day closure during the summer would be significant too. Therefore we will be remaining cautious and asking guests to do the same for the benefit and safety of everyone.
It is strongly advised that guests wear face coverings in the shop/reception and also in the facilities. Staff will be wearing face coverings in all indoor areas including in The Brotherswater Inn. Table service will continue inside too.
We have always been a group-free site and this will remain the case. We will continue to limit the number of guests on the campsite, carry on with our enhanced cleaning procedures and keep indoor areas well ventilated.
The Brotherswater Inn will open the bar so customers will (finally!) be able to order and carry their drinks. We will be serving food indoors only and it is advisable to book a table either via email@example.com or call 017684 82239. Tables outside for drinks will be first come first served.
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us through this past 18 months. We are very grateful for all the kindness, patience and lovely comments we have received. We hope that everyone continues to stay safe, enjoy our hospitality and make the most of the charm of the Lake District.
In the heart of the Dovedale Valley, surrounded by Dove Crag, Hart Crag and Fairfield with Brotherswater nearby, Sykeside is an inspiring location for Lake District camping, offering stunning views wherever you pitch.
We are the perfect spot for walking, whether you fancy a short stroll around Brotherswater or a full day's hike up High Street, as many footpaths leave right from our doorstep. Our central location makes us ideal for exploring the Lake District and Cumbria, whether it be on foot or by car. Alternatively, for those who wish to relax, why not sample a pint or two of local ale at the Brotherswater Inn whilst enjoying the stunning views of Dove Crag.
For brave campers we are open all year round (with the exception of the Christmas period) in all weathers, so why not join us for a spot of ice-climbing or winter walking, or perhaps just relaxing by the fire in the pub!
We are dog friendly, so anyone with four legs is very welcome in the bunkhouse, on the campsite, in the bar and resturant and in the shop. We do, however, ask that dogs are kept on a lead and under control as the local sheep and deer are a little more nervous than ourselves.
The Brotherswater Inn and Sykeside Camping Park are certified as 'We're Good To Go Covid Secure' by Visit England. For more information about our COVID-19 procedures and restrictions on camping and at the Inn please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Broadband is now available free of charge at The Brotherswater Inn and campsite shop. Please ask at the bar or at the campsite shop/reception if you would like to login.
